Chiara is so talented, a true team player and an all-round great person to be around. She started working with Brammibal’s in Berlin but moved over to Hamburg to make sure our second home also gets equally delicious donuts.

As Linda, Assistant Bakery Manager (Berlin) puts it, ‚Chiara is the best that happened to Hamburg, but is missed the most in Berlin! She is super helpful, extremely nice and patient, has a super duper taste in music…and always has the perfect eyeliner!‘

How long have you been working at Brammibal’s?
I started in July 2020.

How do you start your day?
I usually wake up early in the morning between 2-4am, once I arrive in the bakery I make coffees for myself and the team, and set up everything for the production…and try to find a good playlist for the day! Once the first donuts come out of the fryer I treat myself with a warm Cinnamon Sugar one.

What does a typical day look like for you?
Everyday is different , there are days when I mainly work in the small office in the Hamburg bakery but most of the time I start my work days in the production. We start at 3am to make the dough fresh every morning, and decorate the donuts for all the 4 locations. Once the main production is done and the team starts with the preparations for the next day I do my office tasks such as ordering ingredients, writing schedules, having employee appraisals, weekly meetings etc.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
Working in a vegan company is very important to me since it fits to my personal values. Another big part is the team which makes every day fun and helps each other whenever they can. I also really enjoy the variety because even though my job involves a lot of organisation, I can still help out with doing our donuts which means that I work very closely with our Hamburg bakery team.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?
To keep a cool head when there’s technical issues such as when the fryer didn’t turn on last year and I had to contact a technician to find out where the problem lay! I want to be a role model for my team and try to stay relaxed even I am stressed about things.

What donut flavour would you love to return to the menu?
Definitely strawberry tonka but I also miss the Strawberry Sparkle donut from New Year’s Eve 2020.
